Whoever we are and however we describe ourselves, we welcome everyone and see one another as God does: beautifully created in the image of the one who loves us and frees us to serve.
What Can I Expect?
Our worship style is a blend of traditional Lutheran liturgy and music, with contemporary preaching and prayers. In each service, you can expect a call to worship, readings, preaching, prayers, communion, and hymns. Following worship, we stick around for casual conversation over coffee and treats.
Families are welcome! There is a space for children in the sanctuary to play, explore, and participate, as well as opportunities for led children’s messages and crafts.
Does Acacia Park Lutheran Church have a dress code?
Please come as you are! Most people dress casually and comfortably for the weather.
Is everyone invited to celebrate Holy Communion?
Here at APLC, we celebrate open communion, meaning that all are welcome at the Lord’s Table. One does not have to be a member of APLC or be Lutheran.
Can I sit when everyone else is standing?
Yes, absolutely. Here, we invite you to stand if you are able. Some members prefer to sit and that is completely fine!
Are you ADA Accessible? What if I have mobility concerns?
Acacia Park Church has a number of features that make our space accessible.
Physical accessibility
– Designated handicap parking in front of main church doors
– Worship space is on ground level of the church
– Companion pews for wheelchair users
– Ramp access to sanctuary for those who wish to lead worship there
– Elevator lift for access to events in Fellowship Hall and ADA restrooms
Other accessibility highlights
– Large print bulletins
– Amplified sound throughout sanctuary
– Noise cancelling headphones for those with sound sensitivities
– Hand sanitizer/face masks available through church
Am I expected to place money into the offering basket?
You do not have to put money in the offering basket. We acknowledge that everyone gives differently: some are financial gifts, some are time and talents. We encourage you to give as you are moved to.
If you would like to make a financial gift, you may put cash or check in the offering basket during worship, scan the QR code located in our pew, or visit our Giving Page to make an electronic gift.
Are my children welcome in church?
Yes! Children are invited to join in a Sunday school lesson and craft during the sermon, sing the songs, say prayers, or enjoy their very own children’s bulletin. Acacia Park Church has a special exploration area in the back of the sanctuary designed for little ones. We also have a Quiet Room, equipped with cozy furnishings and live sound from the church service, for those who may need a break from worship.
We continuously strive to make our space on that is warm, welcoming, inviting, and accessible.
